Longleaf to Lighthouse Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition Day 2 - Lake Miccosukee Paddle & Miccosukee Greenway Biking
Published on April 23, 2026
The trekkers began the morning on the water with a guided paddle across Lake Miccosukee, led by Elder Michael Frank and Popeye Osceola of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.

Afterward, they met with Bud Chiles, son of Governor Lawton Chiles, to learn about conservation efforts on his family’s historic property.

From there, the group continued south by bike along the Miccosukee Greenway Trail, riding toward a new development in Tallahassee at the edge of the Florida Wildlife Corridor.
Stay tuned for more updates from the field as the trekkers traverse the Corridor within the city of Tallahassee!
