Conservation programs & Funding:

EQIP & CSP: USDA’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) assists with implementing new conservation practices, while the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) supports landowners expanding existing efforts. Application deadline for both is october 3, 2025.

Recognition & Stewardship:

Boyles tree Farm: Awarded the 2025 Jon Gould Florida Outstanding Tree Farm of the Year award for exemplary forest stewardship.A farm tour is planned.

Collaborative Conservation:

Big Bend Wildlife Corridor: A partnership between Tall Timbers and the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation is creating a conservation corridor across 11 counties in the Florida Big Bend. Focus is on working lands and stewardship practices like prescribed fire.

Disaster preparedness:

Hurricane Season: Resources available for preparing properties, including webinar recordings and tips for protecting forests.
Farm Records: Landowners are urged to complete farm records with the USDA Farm Service Agency before a storm for potential disaster assistance eligibility.

Wildlife Monitoring & Citizen Science:

florida Panther sightings: FWC requests public reports of panther sightings (in-person, trail cam, tracks, etc.). also interested in videos of bobcats with unsteady movements. Invasive Species Survey Group: Volunteers needed to help identify and map invasive plants in North florida and the Panhandle.
